Usually losing weight takes a very long time to lose and keep off but that requires great commitment and as I have experienced, some people simply do not have the patience or will to make that commitment. The following tips will only help those that want to knock off a few extra pounds that were gained on a holiday or birthday bash etc.

1) Drink More Water You need to drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day to see the true effects of water on your body which is; water burns fat. Well, water does not directly burn fat but the job of water in the body is to ensure that all processes in the body are working smoothly and this includes the fat burning process in cells. Water can also help to flush out some fat from the body. To put it bluntly, if you are not drinking enough water per day, your body is not burning as much fat as it should be. It is also better to drink cold water rather than warm water because before water can be used in the body, it needs to be warmed up and warming up the water uses calories.

2) Eat More Fruit and Vegetables I know you must have heard this thousands and thousands of times on end but it is true. Eating fruit and vegetables help you lose weight. This is because most Fruit and Vegetables are negative calorie foods meaning that your total net gain of calories daily, reduces each time you eat a portion of fruit or veg as the calories taken to digest the food is more than the calories contained in the food. Take for example an apple. Lets say an apple contains 45 calories and you eat it. Your body would then use 90 calories to digest the apple meaning that in effect you have just lost 45 calories without exercising or moving an inch. Also, some fruit such as oranges(vitamin C) and Apples are particular effective at washing out fat from the body.

3) Sleep for at least 8 hours per day. Yep, I bet you would never have guessed but sleeping helps you lose weight and this is due to your metabolic rate. The more you sleep, the higher your metabolic rate which means the fewer the calories left over, after digestion and converted to fat.

The tips above will help you to lose weight if you follow them and do what they say but please NOTE. To be effective, the tips above need to be done on top of all the other weight loss stuff such as: - Eat less fried foods, fast foods, dairy products or food with lots of fat in them - Do a combination of both cardio (jogging) and weight lifting exercises And you should have dropped your weight in no time at all.
